On August 15th, 2010, I will begin my equaventure. I will pack my laptop, digital camera, a few clothes, and my two ukuleles, before beginning my trip to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This will be the second time I have travelled to another country with the intent of actually "living" within it (China being the first), but this time I am truly intent on carving out a permanent life for myself in this distant land. On a recent trip to Brazil, prior to my decision to relocate, I discovered a phenomenal sense of connectivity and understanding with the people and culture there, so much so that I felt it to be my true home, the place I was destined to be. Never before in my life had I felt this way before and so now, I have decided to immerse myself in this next chapter of my life. I plan on being an English language teacher to begin with and then eventually figuring out how to diversify my situation, maybe utilizing my skills in business, art, and physical fitness. There are no guarantees of anything and I have come to terms with the fact that I may come home to the United States, broke, alone, and destroyed, but I must try. I will not tolerate living a life of regret, spending my last days wondering about what could have been.
