Travelling
Brazil is home to many different types of amazing geography, historical locations, and natural treasures. I hope to participate in a good amount of traveling to experience all of these things! I am not certain of my personal transportation situation yet, but I think I will attempt to purchase a car when I am there. The driving is a little bit crazy, but nothing close to the full-blown vehicular insanity of places like China and the Philippines! Check the blog to see cool places to visit.
Training
Brazil, home of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is packed with a countless population of amazing martial arts instructors and fighters. Rates are fairly cheap in comparison to most places in the United States and the quality, and intensity of training, is what I have always dreamed of. Depending on where I am living, I hope to continue my education in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well as Karate and Muay Thai. There are so many great schools and instructors in Brazil that I feel like I'm going to have a martial arts heart-attack when I think about it. Eating/ Cooking
Brazilian cuisine is influenced by Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, and indigenous cooking. Long story short, it is simply amazing and makes up a big part of the experience there. An incredible variety of meats, cheeses, grains, vegetables, and fruits, are prepared in thousands of different ways, making it difficult to choose a meal, and easy to satisfy a hungry appetite. I plan to eat a lot of this stuff... And to learn how to cook all of it as well. I love cooking and believe that it is an essential life skill. Check the blog for the "Recipe of the Week".
Socializing
Friends & family, dancing, live music, and having a good time with life, are all big parts of Brazilian social culture. Many people in Brazil enjoy being outside and communicating with their fellow Brazilians, finding great satisfaction in the joys of human interaction. Making Art
I've been drawing, painting, and everything else since I was a little kid. I love it and hope to get some artistic inspiration from things I encounter in Brazil. I plan to take a lot of photos as well and hope to compile a nice coffee table book of prints at some point. I will try to keep an updated gallery of things I produce while in Brazil.
