My name is Thomas Montgomery Ortega Stern and I was born and raised in Berkeley, California. At an early age, I developed a great passion for exploring this world and experiencing all that is has to offer, leading me to my studies in Political Science, for which I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Humboldt State University in 2010.
In my ceaseless quest to confront the unknown, I have crossed many bodies of water, big and small. I have kept warm in freezing cold, found shade in blistering sunlight, spilled sweat in stifling jungles, and set foot upon many countries that are not my own. I have said "hello" in many languages, received both courtesy and anger, have blushed red with happiness, and turned ashen with threat of death. I am an explorer, a naturalist, an adventurer, an artist, and a lover of life.
Within me there is a spiritual compass, an ever-present device that points in no certain direction, but instills a great sense of faith and destiny within me. I have followed it to many places, to many people and events, good and bad, and it has always reaffirmed my belief that a life guided by one's heart is a life well lived.
