This first workout will be an introductory level routine and should not be too difficult. Have no doubt, it should be challenging, but that is what fitness is all about! In this first routine, I will only use activities that most people should know already, because I cannot visually demonstrate techniques yet. However, eventually I will try to post videos with the "Workout of the Week", in order to help viewers learn unfamiliar and advanced activities. So, first things first... Make sure you have eaten some healthy carbs for energy (bread, fruit, etc.), had LOTS of water, and given yourself time for that stuff to digest. Now, change into some comfy clothes and let's rock and roll!

Workout 1

Warmup
20 jumping jacks
15 squats
10 pushups

Activity
(30 seconds, single leg lunges/ 30 seconds, squat jumps) x 3
(30 seconds, jumping jacks/ 30 seconds of pushups) x 3

NOTE: For these 3 minute sets, try to adhere to the 30 second window of each activity, even if you end up doing one pushup or one squat jump in the the allotted 30 second window. Just keep going, Push yourself!

1.5 mile run, easy pace. Go as slow as you need to go in order to not stop.

Cool Down
flutter kicks x 50
crunches x 50
situps x 25

I still have more than a month before I embark on my trip, so right now, things are pretty relaxed. Most importantly of all, I'm trying to make sure to relax with my family since I won't get to see them for a while. I hope I can get a nice place to live in Brazil, so that my parents will want to stay for a while when they visit! After family, my second priority is just keeping tight with my money. My ticket is already purchased and I have the money for my visa, which I will apply for at the end of July, but I need to plan for the unexpected. Maybe I will get lucky and land solid work right away, but if not, I will need to have money to move, eat, and live until I can get my income figured out. The whole situation is a bit scary, but I'm trying to just play it like a fight... Stay relaxed, stay calm, have faith in what I know, and just take all that comes one step at a time. The whole situation is far more exciting than terrifying. My blogging is probably going to be very sporadic up until the week of departure and then very frequent when I am finally there... I'm only assuming though. Ok, I'm off to the store to get the ingredients for Pao de Queijo.. I will put up a recipe that people can use in America and a weekly workout as well, for after eating the pao de queijo!
